Where the paywall sits
Subscription tracking itself is available on Rocket Money’s free plan. Its paid plan adds features including a subscription cancellation assistant and more advanced financial tools. See Rocket Money’s plan details and its cancellation assistant documentation. This tool is an alternative way to check a statement, not a claim that Rocket Money charges everyone to find subscriptions.
What the free version here does
- Opens comma, semicolon or tab-separated bank exports locally, with column matching and a choice of date and spending conventions.
- Looks for similar payments to the same merchant at weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and yearly intervals.
- Shows the matching transactions, estimated monthly and yearly costs, and older patterns to review.
- Downloads the selected results as a CSV. No account, linked bank, upload or saved transaction history.
Use one account and one currency per file. Results are candidates: regular purchases can look like subscriptions, and irregular charges or changing descriptions can be missed.

When paying might still make sense
Rocket Money may suit you if you want ongoing tracking through connected accounts, a wider budgeting app, or its Premium cancellation assistant. This tool only analyses the CSV you open. It cannot monitor future charges, connect to your bank or cancel anything for you.
How this one stays free
It runs entirely in your browser. There is no server to pay for, nothing is uploaded, and the code is open source. There is nothing to cancel because there was nothing to sign up for.
